My son got invited to the youth hunt. Private land. We live in Alabama. Can I buy just his license or do I need to have a license also to accompany him? Tried reading up on it but am a little confused.
 
one is 17, one 16, one 14. I believe the 14 year old is the only one that would qualify if I am reading it right.

It is a little confusing.

In addition to your 14 yr old, your 16 yr old would also qualify as long as he is 16 on the day of the hunt.

You do not need a hunting license. However, each must be accompanied by a non-hunting adult over the age of 21 who is in position to take immediate control of their hunting weapon. The adult must comply with the blaze orange/pink requirements.

One adult can be there for multiple youths, but, all must be together where he/she can take immediate control of their weapons.

Mandatory Hunter EducationAll hunters, resident or nonresident, born on or after Jan. 1, 1969, must possess proof that they have successfully completed a Hunter Education course. Hunter Education certification is accepted from all other states. Those under 10 years of age do not need a Hunter Education certificate, but must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years of age who must remain in a position to take immediate control of the hunting device. Go to www.tnwildlife.org to complete hunter education online or find a listing of scheduled classes.
 
There was a permit to bypass this for 1 or 2 years for like $10. that might still be available. good luck to them.
 
How does the youth hunter check in the deer if they don't have a license number? At a checking station?
