You've all hunted whitetails, some have hunted mule deer, and a few have hunted blacktails…. Anyone ever hunted a no-tail deer?

There is a doe that frequents my neighborhood with a half tail. I saw her again yesterday. Two years ago we had a pair of dogs chasing very young fawns around in the neighborhood maybe that's the explanation.

I hate to share, but I shot a tail off of a doe during my first or second year of hunting… I took my rifle (heavy barrel r700) off of the bipod to swing around on a group of does, clean missed the one i was aiming at, and the shot was so bad it grazed a broadside doe in the rump that otherwise wouldn't have been in danger, had i hit my mark. I learned that I'm unfortunately not John Wayne and that a rest is always a requirement for me. I also had a buddy with me and got ragged for weeks!!! When they ran off, that particular doe wasnt flagging, and i literally found its tail in the field… 🤦‍♂️
