Ok, I have been holding out about posting this, but our lease members are seeing very little deer activity this season. First, I thought it was just me - shot one early last season and shut out the rest of the way. Started the same this season - saw five opening weekend and missed one due to guessing the distance wrong. Other guys killed plenty last season, but not like the season before. The lease is near the Rhea/Bledsoe border. I think there are two factors: 1) the heat this fall, and 2) EHD. Anybody else hear of bad EHD outbreak in that area?

Don't know about Blount County but mcminn is dead with white oaks. People complaining about the same thing here but the deer have adapted to the lack of food but the hunters have not. Any grown up pasture or powerline will be gold this year. It's proof when you ride around and every field you come by is standing full of deer during what should be the peak of acorn season.

Our lease is in the same area. We not seeing a lot of activity but the deer are there, our trail cams are showing us this. Also have not heard anything about any EHD on the Mtn. Our members have killed 5 does so far and all have been healthy.

I'm in Mid Tn and Acorns are making it tough right now. Finding several dropping whites, but no sign under them, just acorns laying on the ground. You really have to find THE tree right now and that can be tough.
