? Nitrogen from Legumes

To anyone that has experience.
I always plant a annual clover in my fall food plots of wheat & oats to help them along and provide nitrogen.

My question is...

Basically do lugumes help "restore & build" the nitrogen to the soil and "stay there" until the "next planting"?

Is there "any data" that shows how much nitrogen can be provided by legumes?

Legumes produce nitrogen. However, if you are planting cereal grains, I would still add extra nitrogen. Legumes generally don't produce enough nitrogen to keep cereal grains at their peak.

Typically, soybean will supply 30-40 units of N per acre. A crop of wheat would require around 100 to achieve maximum yield. Each crop would depend on growing conditions and biomass production at the time it was till under for green manure. This is provided that the legume was properly innoculated and did not rely on soil N.
