Anybody have any experience with the Nikon P-223 3-9x40 rifle scope BDC 600 reticle scopes? I have seen them at a good price and was thinking of topping a Colt Ar with this for coyote hunting. Any input or other suggestions?

Never owned the P-223, but I personally like the Nikon scope... very clear scope with great eye relief... never a problem with my Nikons.
They are a bargain for the price...

Any experience with mounting a scope of this kind on an ar with a front site post? Is there anything special that has to be some as to not have interference?

I have the P-223 4 X 12 on my Rock Rivers ATH and love the thing.

I used the Nikon M-223 mount and it all fits prefect. It's one of the better shooting rifles I have.

I did get the BCM Gunfighter charging handle. I wanted it anyway since I shoot left hand but it does help with the scope being over the factory handle and it's much stronger than factory.

I noticed this scope has the tactical turrets along with the bdc reticle. I like the later.
I guess the tactical turrets look cool but not practical for this type of hunting

Nice Rig...
Do you use your tactical turrets or use your BDC reticle?

Both, It all depends on the set up and if I have time.

I learned that I need to check the turrets each time I get it out before going to a stand to make sure they are on zero because once as I was getting it out of the case I rubbed it causing it to change to another setting. No big deal, it's no different than checking that the safety is on.

What magnification y'all recommend for coyote hunting ?

Either the 3 X 9 or the 4 X 12. I got the higher one because my eyes are getting older and I do like it better.

Hell I'm so indecisive I can't decide between a red dot and the Nikon . I know 2 different worlds but something makes me want a red dot. Lucid hd7 seems like a good choice for that route if I was to go that way. Who knows which one it'll be, maybe both (doubt that will happen though)

On my other AR-15 I have a EOTeach 512 for home defense. It's a GREAT close range weapon but I would not use it for long range coyote hunting. I bought another 512 for my shotgun for turkey and night coyote hunting.
