I am torn between buying a new Leupold 3x9x40 LRD Rifleman, or a Nikon 3x9x40 BDC Prostaff. The Leupold can be had @ Cabelas for 199 w/ free shipping and A 20.00 OFF COUPON. The Nikon is 170 before using the same 20 off coupon. I currently own 3 of the same Leupold scopes on different rifles, so I know what I will be getting with the Leupold. I have never owned a Nikon, so I don't know what to expect. I have seen the Nikon Omega on a Knight Muzzleloader. It was impressive, but I'm still not sold on the Nikon yet. What are y'alls opinions?

Leupold w/leupold mounts.I have the same one, it works, and it works good.But either is good. And I ain't so sure about that whole BDC thing. JMO
I have a Nikon Buckmasters and a Leupold VX-I, both of which are generally considered to be better than the Prostaff and Rifleman. My only complaint on either is that the power adjustment ring on the Leupold is extremely tight; so tight, it's getting sent to Leupold for repair after the season. I prefer the Nikon to the VX-I.
Having said that, I just used the Cabela's $20 off coupon for a Burris Fullfield II, which was $167 including shiping. I expect I'll like it better than both of the above scopes.

I agree with DA, look for a used VXII, VXIII, or Nikon Monarch on Ebay. You will get alot more scope for about the same money, and both have lifetime warranties, so if its messed up, just send it back to the factory.
It's true, the Leupold is very tight. But I regard that as a sign of quality.jakeway said:
