Nikon buckmaster or Vortex diamondback

I have $200 to spend on a scope.
Should I get the Nikon buckmaster or the Vortex diamondback?
Or suggest something else, but not over $200 please.

What he said. I don't know anything about the vortex though.

If I had that budget for that power scope, I'd get a Burris Fullfield II. I have a Nikon Buckmaster and a Burris FF II in that size, plus a Leupold VX-I and a Burris FF II in 2-7x33. The Burris is the clearest and brightest in both sizes.

I have no experience with Vortex, so I can't comment on it. It might be best of them all. You should look through both in dim light outside and make your own decision.

I'd go with the Vortex,if not only for the no questions asked warranty.
I have Vortex binos i like alot.

Plus dont want anything with "buckmasters" on it.
They may send you a bill for it later. :grin:

The Diamondback is not the same quality as the Viper. If you can find a Viper in your price range it will be better optically.

Have you looked at the NEW Nikon Prostaff scopes? You have to be sure your looking/getting the "NEW" version..... they will have the green lens coating..... where the older ones had blue I believe.

They are supposed to have been redesigned and have a better light transmission %. Might beable to get a 4x12x? or 4x14x? for the same price as the 3x9x40 BM scope.

Buck masters are good and IMO the vortex is a tad better. However my fav under $200 scope is the redfields!
