Nightforce NXS

I'm having a rifle built at Short Action Customs and I will be needing some glass for it. It will mostly be used for punching paper and banging steel out to 1000yds. I may use it for hunting from time to time.

I'm thinking about getting a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22X50 w/ NP-R2 reticle. I have never owned a Nightforce and needed some opinions. I know some of you guys have used em so let hear what you think.

I have that very scope but NP-R1 reticle I believe and Zero Stop. Had it about 18 months. Absolutely awesome glass, positive click adjustments on the turrets and overall great scope. I'm gonna be selling mine to fund another project though.

Good scope. I have the NXS 3.5-15x50 with NP-R1. Glass is good but not on par with my S&B. However, once you get into this arena of glass, it's splitting hairs. The scope is a little heavy compared to a Leupold of similar model. I don't think you can go wrong with it...Lastly, Nightforce has MAP pricing which is standard. However, you can negotiate adding rings into the mix as part of the purchase.

$1700....or $2650 with it still mounted to the NF 20MOA rail in the steel NF Tactical rings on the Remington 700 5R in .308 with 67 rounds total thru the bore............that oughta be enough to get this thread locked.
