Nice surprise while bass fishing earlier, probably my second biggest crappie ever. Shout out to my wife for saving him when my line got stuck on the back of the boat.

You get to where you can fill a cooler with those babies and you will forget all about ditch pickles…..how big was he? If he is 14" he qualiifies as TARP

I'd say easily over 14 inches.
He's not even doing the Jimmy Houston arm extension pose🤣

Hey, did you weigh or measure that big crappie?

I just know you're pretty near full grown and your being a big ole boy may make that crappie appear smaller?

Hope you kept that one for the skillet! Nice meal there

I still hoping to get a little taller lol, it was 14.5" and just under two pounds, dang thing was about as fat as me.

I'm not sure about forgetting about bass, that's always been a passion of mine but I will admit I do get excited when I catch a nice crappie. It was 14.5".

I use to be consumed with large mouth. Just to reel them in and let them go. Now i only target crappie on lakes. Nothing like reeling in 1.5 pound crappie on 2 lb line and super ultra light spinning tackle. But the biggest perk is being able to full a cooler with delicious fish. Now i cuss every time a pickle hits my crappie baits

Trust me I love to eat crappie and target them occasionally but I fish several lakes where small bass, typically under 14", are legal to keep. Those small ones taste the same to me as bluegill so I like keeping a mess of them too. I was actually targeting them when I caught the crappie. I tried to switch gears and catch some more but didn't get any.
