It's been tough for us so far this year and hadn't seen a lot of deer. The good Lord blessed me this morning. I saw a decent 2.5yo with a broke side tending and chasing a doe early this morning. About 7:35, I caught this guy cruising above me about 75 yds. I knew he was a shooter as soon as I seen him but wasn't sure how big. I found an opening and shot when he stepped in it. He ran right towards me and thought I had missed. I missed him at about 50 yds the second shot and then shot him again as he ran by at 30 yds. I spined him and he came to a sliding stop nearly under me. I ended up making a good shot the first shot after getting to him. I thought he was a little bigger when I looked at him through the scope under me, but I'll take it. I got to break the new 7mm-08 7600 in.
Another thing is that I hunted 26 years before killing a mainframe 10 in 2017. I have now killed one the last 3 years.
Thanks for reading.
