Many potential users are not aware that (when being used in cell mode), with some models you cannot program the cam to take pics as often as in non-cell mode, and, the pics transmitted are relatively low-quality images. I bet many have been disappointed when their advertised 12mp cell cam would only transmit images as often as one per 60 seconds, and the images were only about 1.3mp. To see better images, you still have to retrieve the card from the cam. And compared to non-cellular cams, battery life is pathetic, meaning without some type auxillary power supply, you have to change the batteries at least twice as often (that alone can cause increased area intrusion).
Want the transmitted images to come to your regular cell phone? Want an audible alert each time? Most deer pics will come in during the night, and you may need a dedicated additional cell phone (something I recommend for deer). Reserve your main cell phone for those cell cams you're using more for security than for wildlife. When everything is working properly, cell cams do provide some great benefits in many applications. But there are "issues" with them that many users have found to be enough detriment to off-set those great benefits.
The technology is improving, and at some point, I'd expect most to actually work much better and mostly as advertised and expected by the end user. But are we there yet, at least regarding most potential users?
