Got the 44" Swisher rough cut on saturday,took it to my place and cut my clover fields back,it did great,worked on a few roads,then I got hot and headed home,hopefully it will cool off a little soon.

How well made are they? Is the shaft size pretty big? We are actually considering one of these for the 4 wheeler, but hate to order one and it show up. Just to find out it's flimsy.

looks like a solid peice.

I've had one for many years. We've used it hard and never broke a single piece or had to replace anything. [knock on wood]

Just make sure you get the brush cutter model instead of the mower model. The brush cutter model is made to be used as a brush bush-hog (large, heavy blade), while the mower model is made for mowing grasses. The only problems I've heard of (from dealers) is people using the mower model to cut heavy saplings, which it is not built to do.
