I recently got station here at fort campbell and my bow just arrived today. I can't wait to be sitting in the tree. If anyone knows any good 3D ranges close by could you let me know and if I have been scouting every chance I get and this state seems to be just crawling with deer everywhere. How bad does the twra land get pressured?

Welcome and not to sure about the pressure in your area but ft Campbell is some of the best hunting in the state, hope u get some time in the woods

I have had a few training days out on the back forty and there is a lot of big bucks back there. I also have been scouting a couple other spots off post and have been seeing good sign but am assuming after opening weekend that will change from the hunting pressure.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for your service! Campbell has some very nice deer on it for sure. As far as TWRA land, almost every bit of public land gets pressured--some more than others. As far as 3D goes..... you are in a 3D hotspot being in Mid-TN! At the top of the forum there is a calender for 3D shoots in the area made by DixieCrafter. Almost every weekend, except for ASA weekends, there is a shoot to be found somewhere in Mid-TN. You have Old Hickory Lake Bowmen Club, Montgomery County Bowhunters, Cheatham Archery Club, Frog's Timberland Archery, LazyDay in Paris and a lot of others.

As far as public ranges go, Old Hickory Lake Bowmen Club in Hermitage is about the only one that is open year around, 7 days a week. We do not keep 3D targets up, but we do have target buttresses all over the property that you can walk through and practice on from 10yds to 70+ yards.

Thanks for your service . You should not have any trouble finding hot spots to hunt in and around .ft Campbell.

You sound .good to go on the 3d stuff now.

Thank you for your service to our country!! Welcome to the forum!! Your in great country for deer. LBL is good, Ft. Campbell is better!

Welcome and you already at a place with some really good deer and deer hunting. Being active duty you get first pick of any of the areas they open. Never bowhunted the bow only spots but seen what comes out of them. Unless you just wanting to try some place different for a change I would keep looking around where you already at. Talk to some of the pilots and/or their crew, they can be very helpful but they wont give up the big ones. Not hunted up there in a couple a years but did it for 12 years in a row and IMO I wouldn't waste the time with public land or a WMA unless you just wanting a change of scenery.

Thanks for your service.

I wouldn't go anywhere but where you are stationed. There is a reason people line up their vacation days for Fort Campbell trips. Pressure or not.
