New to Tennessee, new to deer hunting

Greetings all,
We just bought a house in Mountain City and we are in the process of moving in. There's deer in my yard everyday and I'm presently looking into the legality of shooting them(crossbow).

Welcome! Good to have you how big is your yard? Shooting one with a crossbow it could potentially travel a long way before dying. Also, in Tennessee if it does die of your property you would have to get permission from the land own to retrieve it. I have an acer and have deer in my back yard all the time. But there's no way I am shooting one back there it's not worth what issues it could cause.
