Do you routinely encounter "new" bucks during the rut?

Yes and no. Some show up in the fall and leave after rut, then come back again the next fall. Some leave. Rarely do I see a brand new mature buck. Most new bucks are yearlings. That said it's property dependent.

Yes, we have new bucks show up during the rut. Sometimes mature bucks we have never seen come through get a pic or two made only to never be seen again. Some times just young bucks, but we do see new bucks show up. Some hang around with the does for a few days.

Most of the big bucks I see/kill/ get on camera during the rut are bucks I've never seen or had pics of before.
I don't run camera's because I like to be surprised. I do watch and see some of the same Bucks as they grow from year to year. After prime Rut I do see different Bucks that are moving around looking for Hot does.
