Just traded a pre-safety 336 30-30, for an English made Interarms Mark X in 30-06 for my brother. Gonna shoot it tomorrow and put some pics up in the next few days. It seems like a real shooter. The action is smooth as hot butter. It has a garbage scope on it though. Prob gonna put one of those new 3-9x40 Redfields on it. Hopefully I can buy the 336 back in the next few weeks from the guy and have both. Those are gettin hard to find in the pre safety configurations.

Cool deal.

If you relaod try some RL-19 under 150gr AccuBonds or Partitions.

My uncles Charles Daly really likes his load with them as dose several other '06.Same action as yours as is the Remington 798 barrels may be different through. Timney makes a good trigger for them if you don't like yours or can't get it adjusted to suit.He couldn't get his adjusted to suit and I never got to try my hand on it.

Congrats an Good luck

This rifle actually has one of the lightest triggers I have ever felt. It has almost no slack and is very crisp. I would put it at under 2# although I have not officially measured it yet. Hopefully it shoots as good as it feels.

Read the reviews on the Nikon Buckmasters or the Nikon pro-staff.
You cant beat them for the price of 219 and 169 respectively and the bm has 92% light transmission and the ps has 90. I have the BM and it is a dandy in the 3x9x40.

Check out SWFA.com. They may still have the Nikon Primos for $199. The Nikon Primos has the same glass as the Monarch.

Those are great rifles. Wish I had one. They are a commercial version of the large ring mauser 98. Lots of very reasonably priced upgrade potential, if you are into that sort of thing. You can get pre-threaded shilen barrels, timney triggers, and boyds laminate stocks just to name a few things.
