I acquired some new property to hunt in Meigs county. It's about 40 acres and had some pretty good sign. I found some sign that I believe is bear sign. The first picture has my dad in it just for size comparison and the 2nd the scrapes on the tree are above my head and I'm 6'1. Am I correct in assuming get this is bear sign?

I have seen a lot of cedars that look like that, kinda like they shed thier "bark" or whatever you want to call it. Don't think it's caused by a bear, although there are a couple running the ridges here in Meigs!

You should be able to see claw gouged-out scrapes in the wood, or hair stuck to it from a body-rub. See either of those things?

I'm going to take a close look on Saturday on my way out. I'll update afterwards.
