Howdy, im born, raised, and still live in SE Ky, soon be 67, but growing up in 60's-70's, my dad when not working and could, hauled us over Cumberland Gap for 99% of our fishing, and 25% of our squirrel hunting. He and his dad built a cabin on Norris L in 1970, and only our coal mining jobs kept us away any length of time. We, uncle's, cousins used that place as a 2nd home all we could thru most the 80's. I love my SEKy home, but always felt most at home in Tenn-Fact!
Life separated me for the most part from Tenn by 2004. But me and my brother, who has a place on Cherokee L, (him never separated from Tenn), got together last early Oct, did a 3 day squirrel hunt, by boat to our spots, and had best time ive had in long time! Man it felt like heaven! We did good, left more squirrels in the woods than I took, didn't need anymore meat, both using 22lr! Planning a repeat, Lord Willing, this fall? But in my old age, I struggled to concentrate on the squirrels, for all the deer I saw! I now love to deer hunt more! And little while after that trip, I did a search, and found this site. Been visiting a little since, its obviously great, seems user very friendly, and saw topics yesterday I love and related to, so I signed up!
Im a little windy, but happy be here, but am more of a sponge than a fountain, but just saying Howdy, I Like it here already! Id sure love to do some deer hunting in Tenn, but idk, have only deer hunted close to home?
