New Lt Weight rifle set-up estimate?

Well I had to down size in calibers, so I wanted a light weight set up.
I settled on a Kimber 84M since I already had a set of Med. Talley rings in 30mm.
Found a killer Tuesday deal on GB for a 84M Realtree Edge Hunter 22" in 308 win.
Last night I settled on a scope for it. Leupold VX 3HD 4.5-14x40, 30mm tube, side focus, CDL-ZL, wind plex.
It has been a long time since I bought a new scope, but I could not find a deal on one of these used.

Anyone want to guess what this set-up (unloaded) will weight when the scope comes in and I weight it?

I will post a pic of it on a postage scale when I get the scope in!

I have an 84m and they are great guns. I have a little trim 2.5-8x36 vx 3 on mine. The only problem i see with yours is thats alot of weight in the scope that the soda straw barrel wont be able to offset

I got it off eBay, the one guy who had them for 684.99. Everyone else was 750.
Checked Amazon and they were lowest at 675.00. I will keep all my money out of Jeffro's pocket I can. Even if it costs me a little more.

I got mine for $715. Don't trust eBay enough anymore lol. But glad you got a good deal!

Just wondering, what are you putting yours on.
You know your are only a couple of miles from me.
On eBay you need to pay attention to the feedback or you can be in big trouble.

Your post above mentions VX5HD which is a 30mm tube, and totally different animal than the 1 inch VX3i. Which are you using?

I have both. 2 vx5hd and one vx3i. All of mine are 30mm

Yes, VX3i come in both 1" and 30mm. Do any of your 30mm tubes weigh 14 ounces? I'm not accustomed to seeing guys put 30mm tubes on their "lightweight" setup.

According to leupold the vx3i that I have weighs 15.6 ounces.

I agree, on a lightweight setup I would go with something much lighter, but that's pretty good magnification under 16ounces.

I did make a mistake and first wrote this was a VX-5HD which it is not.
It is in fact a VX-3HD, I have since changed my first post to reflect that. My mistake

When I was in the market I looked at a vx3hd like yours. I did find it much cheaper than the eBay price at $555. I wonder how the 3i compares to the 3HD tho.

Getting old sux!
I went and checked a few sites for weight on #180623 and it is advertised @ 16oz. not 14oz.
If I lived closer to a cliff I would jump off!
I am throwing this piece of scrap paper a have been looking at away.

Scope came, and I mounted it.
It was heavier than I was thinking.
But I am glad I got it.
Here is a pic of the weight before adding the scope.

The Scope was a tad under 16ozs.
I don't think it came out to heavy for a hunting rifle.

I have not taken this combo to the range yet. It does have everything that I have been wanting in a scope, without anything extra that I have not been wanting. I have shot this rifle with a regular 3-9x40 scope to see how it shoots before spending good money on another HD scope. It is a sub. MOA rifle and I have the feeling I will be looking thru it a lot this year. I even went and got HD eyeglasses, so I can enjoy the optics even more.
