New member here today. Grew up hunting on the family farm in Nebraska - deer, pheasant, small game. Been in California since I got out of the Marine Corps in 95; listing our home in rural San Diego county next week and moving to TN. Will likely be somewhere between/around Chattanooga and Knoxville area; I want to be able to hunt and shoot on my own property. Looking for hopefully 50+ acres; or a property that borders one of the WMA's or forests.

Since I'll be new to TN, I'll be wondering if there'd be interest in trading hunting on my property for local info/knowledge. I'll want to hunt everything that's available; but I have no experience with turkey and limited hog hunting experience.

Hoping to learn a lot here
 
Welcome! this is a good place to be especially for info. Been spending the last couple years in the Maryville area, poking around South Cherokee, Foothills WMA, Tellico WMA, ETC. I used to hunt up around Scott County before that. just pm me anytime

You really don't want property with Hogs on it. They can destroy 50 acres in no time at all.
TWRA lets land owners take care of Hog problems with permits. They discourage Hog hunting in General because release of hogs has been a problem.

Thank you! Ended up with a 50 acre property that's already set up pretty good for hunting. Got my food plots in and praying for rain this weekend. No hogs anywhere close to me from what the neighbors say - but I'm mainly interested in deer, turkey, and doves.
