I bought a new axis in 22-250 Friday got scope and mounts coming from midway. I got a Stevens mo#200 I screwed a 22-250 barrel on and work fine but it was an 7-08 to start with now I am wanting it back but I needed a varmint gun year round, I was going to buy another action for the 7-08 it was just as cheap to buy the new axis. Got a lot of work to do putting 7-08 barrel back on trying new bench out sighting new gun in and rechecking speed on 260rem. it's never ending!

Mup did you do any trigger work on it? I lighten mine up some but it's still a little heavy and has a some creep ,it will be about a week before I get to shoot it.

Got scope on gun had to get high rings for it, bolt was hitting rear of scope with the medium set. I got it sighted in and real pleased with it. Now I got to get started working up loads.

What did you not understand? rear of scope or ring height gun is a savage axis 22-250. I shot factory loads to sight in. I started with med. height quad lock weaver rings the bolt when raise to eject shell it would hit the ocular end not the very back of scope but where it got larger in the rear. I am talking about two guns one a Stevens mo# 200 that's the one I took the 7-08 barrel off and put a 22-250 barrel on and the new axis.
