I was so impressed by your post that I started researching the SP101. I ended up buying one myself with the 4.2" barrel. Should be here next week.
 
Congrats on the new gun. I qualified for my HCP with one 4 yrs ago, and wanted one then. I finally bought one 2 months ago. I just recently put some hogue grips on it and it feels so much better than the stock grips it came with. I've got a hankering to shoot it with the new grips.

That wood grip looks cool. :cool:

I got this one for $435. It was used, but hardly shot. You can pick them up between $450 and $550. Depending on finding a good deal or not.I got lucky on this one.
 
Just got back from the range with my SP101. I've been so accustomed to shooting my .45, .40, and 9mm pistols for so long. The .357 is definitely a game changer. Will take some getting used to.

Anyhow...I really like this pistol. Despite my severe anticipatory flinching, I was able to shoot it pretty well in terms of accuracy. My only grudge is the stock grip. My hands are too big for it. Will definitely be upgrading to the Badger customs or Hogue.
