i made this plot last winter and this spring and summer. just planted it september 10. its about 3-4 acres. it was a pain in the butt. was all hardwoods and we cleared it. sure looks pretty now though

Looks good. At some point you may want to look at removing the rest of those trees they will compete for any moisture during the summer months. My plots that have no trees do better than the ones that I kept some in.
 
all my other plots are wide open. i wanted to leave some of the bigger ones just for the scenery. plenty of room to get around em with the tractor.

After this last rain ours are looking like that. I hit the fertilizer on it last monday just in time to get the rain and it is really looking good.
 
thanks for all the compliments fellas. it is der, buck forage oats, and crimson clover. i plan on giving it a try during muzzy season

I have found the opposite to be true, in the summer, the shade from the trees will save many plots, especially clover.
 
thanks hook i am a lucky man. maybe i will get the daughter out there next year. a little young for this season.
