Is it just me or is the quality of new firearms really dropping off? I have purchased two new firearms in the past 6 months and have had minor quality issues with both. First was a Remington 700 Tactical, shoots really well, but shell cases are getting light scratches when feeding from mag. Second was 10/22 and the mag sticks pretty bad,it will not drop out of mag well freely. Both firearms are proven designs this is the reason I bought both. Both problems are more of annoyance than anything, but I hate buying anything and then have to tweak it to make it work properly.

I very rarely but a new gun anymore, especially rifles. Quality of newer rifles is no where near what they were 20+ years ago.

The scratched case deal is fixable.

But to answer your question, as demands rise and production numbers rise there will generally be problems with quality unless it is addressed. Doesn't matter if you're talking about guns or any other manufacturing process/product.
