New Bow

The weirdest thing happened. I outgrew my Mathews FX2. I don't know what it was. It just didn't feel right anymore. Luckily it happened around Christmas and some lucky guy browsing the classifieds got a fully decked out FX2 for his son for Christmas. Imagine that...

Anyway, sometime soon I'll start browsing for a new bow. I'm not in a rush at all. I will bounce around to various archery dealers and shoot a bunch and decide on my own based on what feels good to me. However, I'm not above taking suggestions. I've only had two real hunting bows during my entire archery career and they were both variations of the Mathews FX. So my knowledge outside of that is pretty limited. I know about Mathews, Pearson, Martin, and the big names but I really don't know what kind of product they're putting out right now.

How about some brand name and model endorsements? Again, I will look around and shoot different models when I seriously begin looking. This is all about what you think I may like.

Disclaimer: I DO NOT have the money, nor the desire, to buy right now. Every time I look for a new product someone has something for sale, and I appreciate you bringing it to my attention, but at this point it'd just drive me insane because I can't buy anything at the moment.

You are doing the correct thing in shooting them all every company is making great bows these days. I suggest trying the xforce lineup and the bowmadness as well just make sure when you shoot them or any bow they tuned and not just out of the box so you get a accurate feel of how they really perform

Good luck in your search. Most bow companies these days have at least a couple of real shooters.

Bowtech. IF you are on a tight budget check out the sniper.

IMO you cant go qrong with bowtech and the customer service is great. Lots of bows to check out.

Do not over look a darton bow, less hype but make a fine bow. If im not wrong they were the first in the biz with the hatchet/dual cams binded together. Darton makes some good bows but they are $$$

trapper john, I shot a lot of bows to find out what I wanted.
Decided on the Drenalin. The best part is that I bought it for half price of new at AT.
If you shop that site daily when you are ready to buy, you can find a deal on any bow you like.
I could not find good prices on used bows anywhere including Craigs list or Ebay.

I bought mine in mint condition, as a bare bow.
Took it to Lawasons, and bought everything from them and they installed all of it.

You're doing the right thing by just going and shooting them. Before I bought the Switchback I gave serious consideration to the Parker line (don't recall what model it was).

I'll be doing some work for High Country Archery this year , so I will pick them as my choice . :) There are so many great bows on the market right now . Shoot them all , and choose the one you shoot best .

I'm honestly going to say Bowtech. Can't beat them for the price and the service.

On the 2nd. hand, Radar is talkin about a nice bow with the newer model High Countrys. pretty dang quick if you ask me.

I love my prestige
stik really likes his outback(could probably get a good used one)and he wishes he hadn't shot the DXT cuz he REALLLLLY liked it
Friend of mine just picked up a new Alpine and is very pleased with it.Seems like a good solid bow.
shoot a bunch,weed some out,shoot some more,keep narrowing down and finally shoot with eyes closed to help make your decision.
