New Bow Fever

So I've never bought a new bow. I'm thinking that after the first of the year I will find a way to get a new one. I've shot Matthews and Bowtech. Liked both. I've been looking at local shops but the only thing that has absoultely stopped me in my tracks was a Bear Agenda 6...until yesterday. I picked up a Martin Litium. Really liked it. Now I guess all I need to do is find a to shoot them both!

Any shoot either of them?

I've shot the Agenda 6 and really liked the Draw cycle on it. very smooth and solid back wall.

If you like the agenda 6 also check out the Bowtech RPM 360 and the Hoyt Faktor. They all have similar draw cycles and each have entirely different feels in the hand. If the 360 was not so freaking top heavy I would buy one in a heart beat. The Faktor is a really sweet bow. Really refined compared to the Bear IMHO.

I have not shot the Martin so can't tell you anything about that.

When I set out to buy a bow this time I had my heart set on a Mathews Solocam. till I shot one.

Smooth yes. Quite yes. But my 15 year old PSE was just 11fps slower than that bow was. Talk about slow.

I know speed is not everything but there are $300 dollar bows out there with speeds faster than the Solocam.

The Solocam was just not for me,

I started out with a Browning Magnum Plus and am now shooting a Whisper Creek Innovator Pro. Went From 219 to 255 FPS and really quiet, so I've improved equipment a lot. Happy with the setup just got that itch.

Would really like some input on the Martin.

A new bow is nice, but $800- $1200.00 price tag for a new bow is just about crazy. I will keep with the older bows, they kill deer just as good as the $1200 dollar bows, but if u got the money, spend it, thats what it is made for, good huntn guys!!!

I bought my last 2 new to me bows on archerytalks classifieds and saved some $.I really like the new bear bows, especially the single cam venue.

As big of a following as they have, you would think people would have figured out how to spell their name by now :) It's just one T. Pet peeve. Sorry.

There are LOTS of good bows being built today. The good thing about this is...bow companies have basically hit a wall with technology. There have been very few steps forward in the past 5 yrs or so. Maybe longer. The hunting guys on TV and in magazines will always claim the newer ones are the best thing out. You just have to find one that WOWs you. I'm late to the bus on shooting Hoyt bows, but I have found them to be very pleasing to me. I couldn't afford a new one but have found great deals on used ones...2014s.

of all the ones i shot Elite and Obsession were my 2 personal favorites. Obsession sniper LT is the most accurate bow i personally have shot and have owned Elite, Matthews, Hoyt, PSE and Bear. feel and shootablilty is all in the eyes of the holder though.

I just bought a Bear Motive 6 for under $500 brand new in the box. I shot a Mathews before, and I have to say... I'm a Bear fan.

The original Mathews chill is the best bow I've ever laid hands on! Go shoot several brands before buying. Remember, you're not just paying for speed, you also need a smooth drawing quiet bow.
