New boot smell

I purchased a new pair of hunting boots last weekend. When I got them home I noticed they had a strong rubber/glue smell on the bottoms of the boots. I have sprayed them with scent eliminator spray a few times this week, but still can smell them. I go to great pains to be scent free and these boots have me worried. LOL.... Anybody have a suggestion to getting rid of the new boot smell. If not I will just continue wearing my old ones. Thanks.........
 
I wouldn't worry about it. Deer seem to be alarmed at the scent of humans most of all but most other stuff doesn't seem to raze them.
 
what Randy said. I worry about my human stank brushing off on the undergrowth when I walk through a thicket, or my dandruff flaking off unseen to the ground where the deer will smell it, or a deer getting downwind of my setup and straight up smelling me. Rubber smell is of no concern to me, and I'd much rather my boots smell like rubber than smell like well worn sweaty boots like they do after a few times in the woods.
 
Baking Soda and ivory soap. If it's foreign to you it will be magnified to a mature buck.

Deer have up to 297 million olfactory (scent) receptors in their nose. In comparison, dogs have 220 million and humans have just 5 million olfactory receptors.

I got these boots Saturday afternoon, washed them in free and clear All and then sprayed them with scent killer. They still had a little rubber smell in them but I wore them anyway Sunday morning. Killed a doe at 7:15am and her and the others walked right over the path I walked in on and it didn't effect any of them.

Dont worry about it, as long as they dont smell like human odor. I would just start wearing them every chance you get in the field, time/miles will fix it.
 
I wont wear them hunting until the smell is gone. If I can smell them when they are on my feet I can only imagine how they smell to a mature buck. I let them sit in the back of my truck all day in the sun and sprayed them a couple times with scent elimination spray and they seem a little better.
 
Scent killer is for human scent. Don't waste it on new boots. Deer are more wary of your breath than your new boots. Lol
 
I use baking soda in my boots and for my breath. I brush with it before hunts. Other than that I put my boots and some other gear in my son's tree house - it's outside but protected. For short-term solutions try Mirazyme
I'm not sure what it is but it kills odor like a champ.
 
I put my gear outside 2 weeks before season to air out some. Spray boots and stands down. If you buy a new pair, spray it down real well. Right now after we've just had some rain, I'd find some mud afield.
