Well I am looking - needing to upgrade... I have had a Parker cyclone for over 10 years and it is great but over the last 3 years I have not been able to shoot it as I have not been able to chocolate chip cookie it with my torn up shoulders and the cranks are expensive... 150 or so... I think I have settled on the killer instinct vital-x 405 crossbow kit with crank... Tractor supply has them for 299... I love the Ravin R26 but dang they are expensive. I can do a lot with the 1700 dollar difference. and the Killer Instinct is only 1 inch wider when cocked and uncocked than the R26... the vital-x 405 still comes with a life time warranty and I get a 55 FPS increase from my parker... Oh well... I guess we will see how a gamble of $299 will pay off.

After my experience with 2 sets of cracked limbs in 2 years on a KI Boss 405, I'd suggest any other brand. I have a Bear Banish 420 now and no issues. But I did upgrade the bolts to a heavier one than what it came with, Carbon Express Piledrivers. You might get away with just upgrading the bolts with the KI, but IMO, the ones that came with it are too light just to get more speed, and they are hard on the limbs.
I was planning on going with heavier points to help compensate.... hopefully this will help... not chasing speed as much as size - specifically narrowness... I am also planning on using fixed and not mechanical...

I'm shooting 125 grain Slick Tricks. Bolt and broad head get right around 500 grains total if I'm remembering right.
thank you for the information... I will probably bump it up to 150's and I have been looking at the slick trick or muzzy as I prefer a fixed blade when possible... thanks for the information and advice

I have a KI Logic 435 that I really like. With a crank it goes for about $699. I had zero issues. I am running some custom arrows and a 100 grain Mega Meat broadhead with a total weight of about 420 grains. It is shooting right at 420fps.
I also have two Tenpoint crossbows a Vengent S440 and a Stealth 450. Those are two great ones but may be a little more than you want to spend.
You may want to look at the Tenpoint Turbo X or Venom X they are in the $1200 range or even a Wicked Ridge RDX 410 for $799 or the M1 Invader for $599. The Invader is also able to be let down at the end of the hunt without having to discharge an arrow. Wicked Ridge are made by Tenpoint so they come with the same warranties.

Bought a wicked ridge raider to replace the Parker crossbow my son took over. It has cocking in stock and also de-cocking. Shoots great.
The decocking would be really nice...
It is. It's also so much faster than the 8 yr old Parker.
