Food Plots need to ask a question

I going to start with food plots this year. I have small rocks no boulders, what about the equipment I need to get them out of there? I'm planning on doing some more places, but I might be the easiest to hire someone with a dozer lol. because of logs and high grass . This place hadn't been hunted in awhile. would it the better just to let him do it?

Rocks and roots best thing I've found is chisel plow on springs. Once you bring them to the surface walking the area hand removing everything

If the site has stumps/rocks, bulldoze first, taking care to not scrape the topsoil away. After dozing, or if no dozing is needed, follow A.Hall's advice--use an old-fashioned chisel plow (with flip-back springs). It will pull roots and decent sized rocks to the surface where they can either be swept up with a rock-rake, or picked up by hand.

Mostly trees laying over in some places . I can take a chain saw to that . It's not to many stumps just mostly small rocks

A strong 4-wheel-drive tractor and solid chisel plow may be able to work that ground without dozer work.

I found that a tool called a "brother-in-law" is best to get rocks and logs out of a plot.

if that tool doesn't work...there is one less person hunting that plot come deer season.

I have been reclaiming old fields that have most of the trees around 2 to 3 inches but some up to 12 inches and its real thick I have been using a backhoe so i dont loose all my topsoil then i go over it with a chisel plow to remove all the roots and rocks next i have a heavy duty blade that levels and gets what i have missed This is slow but it works for me and leaves a nice field ready to lime
