Had a doe come in at 830 his morning. I held on her and squeezed the trigger at 16 yards. Everything felt good and had the sound of a hit. Well she ran off acting like it was a liver shot. Well she bedded down in some thick stuff about 60 yards away. I watched her for an hour and a half as she moved three times. Well I saw the entrance wound on her. I pulled the shot bad. Like really bad. I have no idea what happened. But it looked between the gut and the liver. I couldn't tell which one. After her move to her third bed she moved a ways off and put herself in a position where I could put a stalk on. I got within 15 yards but when I side stepped to get a shot she bolted.

I backed out and got my stuff. I grabbed my arrow and I can't tell if it's liver or just straight gut. I'll post some pictures to get some opinions. The arrow doesn't smell bad. It has that sweet blood smell like when you process a deer yourself. But I did find very little stomach matter on the ground.

Oh and the entrance was straight up and down with a 2 blade broadhead

Based on this statement and the pics of your arrow, I would guess liver area, with little guts and most likely no lungs. Time is your friend. If she laid down within 60 yards, which is telltale of a liver hit, I would give her 6-8 hours minimum and then come back and try to pickup her trail. Best of luck, hope you recover her.

Obviously not heart/lung shot or she would already be dead, likely gut/liver and will need hours to expire.

I never found her. I went to the last known place she was in and grid searched the thicket in the direction she was going. We never found a drop of blood or anything. The only blood I had found was half way between the site of the shot and her first bed. The beds were even dry. We searched for hours and it got hot, but we never came across another sign of her
