If it's an old CVA and my memory is correct, I think they were 1 turn in 60". Pretty much a round ball gun.
Nothing wrong with that. A .490 patched ball and 80 or 90 grains of powder will do a number on deer. They won't go too far if you put it anywhere in the vitals.
Basic stuff you might need to shoot your hawkin....powder, patch(100% cotton), ball, #11 caps, patch lube, patch knife if you want to cut them at the muzzle, powder measure and short starter, also a quick load tube for hunting use.
Additional stuff to make it easier....stainless range rod with muzzle protector threaded 8-32 to accept the ball seating/cleaning jag, lost patch puller, ball puller, nipple wench, and Ted Cash capper(the best).
