Need help picking a stand

I am looking in to getting a hang on/climbing stick setup to use when my climber isn't an option. I love my summit climber but there are times when I can't climb the tree I want because of limbs or a crooked tree.
Looking for opinions on some of the lightest and easiest hang on stands to use and set up.
I'm also looking at the tree saddle but I'm not sold on this idea because I still have to carry sticks to get up a tree.
So what do you guys use when a climber isn't an option? Wanting my setup to be pretty compact for long walks in.

Lone Wolf Alpha 2 is what I have and I love it. I'm sure others are great too. I sold my climber after using the Alpha 2. I have a couple other cheaper/ heavier hang on stands that I leave up on private land that I hunt but for hunting public land or new locations I use the Alpha 2.

I use a Muddy Outfitter Lite stand with Alice straps and kidney belt attached. For sticks, I use Muddy as well with two extra steps made from 1" webbing that hangs from the bottom stick. No issues here except it takes a while to get set up.

Nice setup infoman. But on a tree like that would u not prefer a climber? I've heard good things about muddy but of every stand I've ever used I prefer my summit for comfort, ease of climbing, speed and silence.
I take it that muddy setup you use can be used on most any tree?

Not necessarily. With a climber, I would have had to stop below the branches. Using my lock-on, I was able to get in the middle of the branches for more cover.

If I could find cover in branches from an adjacent tree, I'd rather hunt from my climber. It's much quicker and more comfortable.

Lone Wolf def the way to go for a small portable Loc on, Lone Wolf sticks also the best imo.

IMO, look no further than Millennium 100U. It's the easiest stand that I've put up and it's rock solid. The receiver is quick and easy to install and you can buy extra receivers and them just take the stand with you and it hangs in the receiver in seconds.

Millenium M100, love this stand. I also purchased a set of Hawk Helium Climbing sticks that I am planning to use this year.

I'm 5'11. I just found the m7 microlite today. It looks really good except it doesn't have a way to level the platform or seat.
I'm wanting my stand and stick combo to stay under 20 lbs.

look at x stands, millennium, lone wolf, muddy.

Ditto on the x-stand. They have a combo setup I looked at the other day that was around 20 lbs & had 4 stick sections.

Go the tree saddle route. :super:

Nothing is lighter, nothing is more mobile, nothing is better to hunt or shoot out of- you can shoot any direction at any angle. Nothing is safer.

And with a tree saddle you can hide behind the tree no matter which way the deer comes from, and brace off the tree for a steady shot.

You can climb small trees, big trees, crooked trees, leaning trees, trees with branches, trees with forks and trees that have double or triple trunks off the same base.

It a really slick way to go. You just wear it from the truck to the tree you want to hunt and climb on up.

To climb a tree for tree saddle hunting you only need 1 20" climbing stick....which only weighs 2.5 lbs and a little bit of webbing. Go to youtube and search "one stick tree climbing."

SaddleHunter.com is a website that has a lot of good info, popular modifications, even DIY how to make your own tree saddle based off a rock climbing harness & a little hammock material seat which is super simple to do and way cheaper than buying an off the shelf tree saddle (and just as safe.)

I started deer hunting exclusively out of a tree saddle 10 years ago and never looked back. I sold/gave away my conventional stands. Ive been hunting happier, more successfully and safer ever since.
