need help from S&W gurus

had an old S&W in hand today,,top break 5 shot,hammerless DAO,38 S&W,,with a lemon squeeze type grip safety,had no model number and a serial number 239XXX,,

blue is gone but gun is real tight and pretty dang good shape,,just wonder what it is and a price range,,

I believe it to be from the 1890`s but may be way off..

bbl looked to be about 4 inches and the sights were not adjustable,,wish I had a camera with me at the time,,
