We hunt in Hardeman County in W. TN.
the coyotes keep populating faster than we can kill them in deer season. We have never performed a pure Coyote hunt. I need some advice.

1/ What type of call do you use?

2/ What time of day is most optimum?

This is the way I do it and am happy with my results. I use both electronic and hand held calls, with the electronic calls getting slightly more use than hand helds. I usually hunt later in the mornings (I'm lazier this time of year) until dark on very cold days. I have infinitely better results from here on out with coyote vocalizations although I use prey calls for the first 30 minutes or so at the set then switch and usually kill on the switch.

I use all hand held calls, but I can't afford an electronic call, we ain't far a part, hollar at me after season and maybe we can put a few down

rabbit in distress call will work. They are pretty good at circling downwind, so do your best at scent control. They see movement from a long way off. So, position yourself, gun near ready, start calling. When you first see one, gun up but not on scope, wait till he is inside 200 if you are good at that range. So long as they do not spot you, they will keep coming in. Try not to miss.
