Any tips on running jugs on the TN river below the damn at Picwick? I am gonna go with a group of guys and they are wanting to do some jug fishing.
Jug Fishing I got down pat. I am however not that up to speed on what to look for when trying to find a place to fish them. I don't have a clue about Jug Fishing that river.

i dont know how you would keep track of jugs on a river but limb lining would work .hate to send a flock of jugs to the gulf :)

Go down stream a couple miles and start running about 50 to 60 yards from the bank. They dont take off as fast.We do it all the time

I actually prefer drifting river with good current. As long as all of your jugs are a consistent size and shape, you'll be surprised how well they stay together. I drift jugs below Chickamauga Dam and will frequently drift for 2 or 3 miles, in the main channel, and can easily keep up with 20 - 25 jugs, no problem. And when you're drifting that far, you're covering LOTS of places.

I typically jug fish at night... all my jugs are well painted with flourescent paint (and legally-required name & address) so they shine like a new silver dollar when a Q-Beam hits them. Fishing at night I never set lines more than eight feet deep, no matter how deep the water.

In other words, just do same thing on river you do in lake... except you'll catch a lot more!
