Need a quiet arrow rest.

I've had the same arrow rest on my bow for a while now, and its worn out. The rubber is worn off and is very loud when I draw back. It was a miracle I didnt spook the last deer I killed with it when I drew back. Anyways, just looking for a good quality arrow rest that is as close to silent as you can get it.
 
I have a hostage arrow rest on my bow and love it.No problems here.You have to knock your arrow so that your fletching does not hit the brushes on it.
 
I have a whisker biscuit and don't have that problem.
maybe the more you use it, the quieter it gets? Also I shot a 'skinny' arrow in my Matthews LadyMax.

Hubby has the fall away....
He got it for just the reason you want a quiet rest!
he loves it.
dang thing fell apart right before season while we were practicing. but he fixed it with ease. works fine again.

Whisker Biscuit is a great simple hunting rest, IMO. Fletchings will not wrinkle if you use 2" Blazer vanes.. :cool:

What he said. Been shooting 2" blazers and WB for 3 or 4 years now and no problems.

I've been using WB for about 6 yers and it NEVER made a noise. Must be somehting odd about your arrows or rest.

Mine are either CB Express or PSE Carbon Force with plain carbon finish, no paint or camo finish.
 
A lot of the camoed arrows actually are rough and will make a distinct sound I switched off them right away
 
My WB made noise too. I now use a QAD and it is dead quiet. Was able to draw on a doe at 10 steps and she never heard a thing other that the arrow zipping over her back. How did I miss!!
 
Ok I've seen the whisker biscuits n was skeptical about them for the reason a few of you mentioned. But the other half of the crowd seems to like them once they get broke in. I'll be comepletely changing arrows and fletchings this year. What set-ups do you whisker biscuit owners have as far as arrows/fletchings go?

Also im in the dark about a drpo away rest or whatever. Anybody care to enlighten me?
 
My QAD PRO operates silently.
It is also felt lined on all surface areas the arrow shaft contacts during the draw.

The QAD PRO offers full arrow containment for hunting,and has a nice let-down feature of staying up.
It offers support, yet drops clear of all contact with fletchings.

The only drawback is it's moving parts,that could fail.
Since I have had mine on my bow, it has never had to be adjusted,and works like it should.
If it keeps working, I'll never have a reason to change.

Go with a black arrow and Blazer vanes with a drop of glue at the front of the vane.

Drop aways are great for hunting too. You cant go wrong with a drop away. I like the biscuits for their quality of holding an arrow.. but really you should be able to shoot and keep your arrow on your rest. If your arrow falls off the rest, then you had the bow so torqued you would have missed or wounded the deer to begin with..

:-) I was just trying to stir the pot and have some fun.. the drop aways are by far my choice though.
 
I LOVE my Trophy Taker. Quiet as a mouse, reliable and no fletching contact.

Spray some PAM cooking oil on your whiskers. it will make it quiet. Or just use some string wax.
 
I use the montana gold dropaway rest which has no pull cord, works on inertia to trip it down. has never failed in the 6 seasons of use.
