Its time to invest in a new spotting scope. Will be used at the range mostly 100-600y, but will go out west with me also. budget is $800-$1500 or so. prefer a angled eye piece (current one is a straight). All suggestions welcomed, and appreciated.

It may be a little out of your stated range but the Zeiss Gavia is fantastic.

I had my eye on one of those. they look to be right under $2000, so not to far out. The kitchen remodel is coming in under budget so I may be able to up my budget :)

Athlon Ares 2-60 x 85. You can't beat it for the money.

Ive heard good things about Athlon optics, but never have looked through one. I will have to check them out. Thanks!

A friend of mine has the Vortex Razor that is really nice, at least spotting shots..I haven't sit behind it for long periods and that is the real test for a spotter

Went with the Athlon Ares 20-60x w 85mm lens. nice scope, got it out to the range sunday but it was raining so only shot the 100 yard. should work great for a range scope.
