Any suggestions.I have a Red Head,it did great,for a bout 4 years,but is leaking pretty good now.Sprayed it,but I got pretty wet sat at Center Hill.I like a light weight one,I get it a little big ,so I can wear other stuff under neath if its cold,but can just wear my rain jacket with a T shirt when its warm.

What Cha'll think?
 
I think your best bet is GoreTex, I have a lightweight Browning suit, 4 or 5 years old and going strong and it fits in a little stuff sack not much bigger than a quart - coat and pants. The GT stuff costs a lot more but it will last and the breathability makes it more comfortable.

I've tried the knock-off breathable stuff in the past and it works OK for a couple of years but I changed everything over to real GT and haven't had to replace anything since. My insulated suit is 6 or 7 years old and no problems, it is Redhead w GoreTex.
 
I would buy a Pro Qualifier from Bass Pro. I have a bunch of buddies that have them. You know how much I fish, and I haven't been wet in it yet. I fished in it at Dale Hollow all day Saturday with no issues.

I agree with TN Larry. The Pro Qualifier suits are very good suits and they work really well. They definitely keep you dry. I fished in one this past Saturday in the rain and never got wet!

I use Cabelas Guide Series Gor-Tex. Having had both Cabelas and Basspro clothing, I think the Cabelas clothing is higher quality/longer lasting.

No question the Guide gear is hands down superior!! I have a set of bibs that are just a few months short of 14 yrs old and I wore them yesterday and stayed dry!! 2 1/2 inches fell and running all over the lake at 65 mph with NO leaks!! They are expensive but worth every dime!!

I agree that Cabelas generally has better hunting clothing than BP. However, I know of at least two people who have had the Cabelas rain suits and switched to the Pro Qualifiers. I can't speak on the Cabelas as I haven't had one, but I bought the Pro Qualifier based on a ton of info from other people and have no complaints. Maybe the Cabelas aren't made as well as they used to be, not sure.
 
Get you a 100 mph Gortex suit. There is nothing better. If I lost all of my fishing stuff at once, this would be the first thing I would buy, even before rods and reels.
