Need a new cushion

May seem like a silly question but trying to sit for more than a couple hours has been rough as my tail gets numb and I have to start moving. Anyone recommend a good cushion?

I use an outdoor swing cushion in my ladder stand. Weather resistant and alot of cushion for those long mornings in the woods.

Dicks sporting goods sells something like memory foam. It's water resistant to a point. Won't absorb like a sponge. Your weight won't sink through to the metal pan. And the great part is they are like $4

Due yourself a favor and buy a fatboy cushion. One of the best things I've ever purchased.

Home Depot sells something like that in the garden department too that is pretty small. It's designed for gardening for people that are on their knees a lot. During archery season when I am using a small pack I use that one.

I balked at the cost, but thought about how my hunts were being shortened due to back (and tail) pains. It was negating some big dollars spent to get up in the tree. So, I held my nose and bought one. While heavier than a regular "treestand" cushion, they are well worth the money. It is one of the items that if it somehow got gone that I would immediately replace with another.

I have one of those heated cushions for cold weather. It makes my butt sweat!

When my aunt died she had some of those wheelchair cushions. They are really comfortable, but not waterproof. I put mine in a black trash bag.

What everyone says is correct, it is worth the money to be able to sit longer. When I'm ground hunting LOVE my short turkey chair! I have to watch not falling asleep.

For me, the price was worth it for the Fatboy. It has definitely extended my sitting time in a tree.Unless I do something stupid, I suspect it will still be going strong in 10 years. So, for $8 a year, yeah, it is worth it for the comfort. As I said, if I somehow lost mine, I'm immediately re-purchase.

But, fair warning, it is heavier with the gel and memory foam than a regular cushion. So, if shaving ounces off your gear is important to you, it might not be the one for you. For me, I'll leave something else at the truck and carry it.

Yes the fat boy is worth it !! I never dreamed I'd pay they much for a cushion until I borrowed a friends. I went home and ordered one. Now it goes on almost every hunt !

If you lived here in the east you could come by the shop and I could fit you with a good thick piece of foam..anywhere from 1 to 6 inches thick.
And some camo fabric to cover it with.

Get the fatboy. The lite is just foam where the original is gel and foam

Two pieces of those Dicks and a cover would be really nice now that I think about it,

Holy smokes, 80$ for a seat cushion? I must be missing out? Would love to try one but now way I would pay 80$ unless its like magic! I just don't have that much trouble with my 15$ cushions and they are LIGHT!
