looking for a good gun smith around nashville.i have a couple of marlins i would like to chop the barrel on. has anyone every had this done before? thanks

The gunsmith up in Greenbrier at Guns & Leather did a re-crown on my Ruger M77 and did an excellent job. I know he has a lathe for cutting barrels, and I'd go to him if I had a barrel to cut down.

Sorry I forget his name, but you can reach him at Guns & Leather.

Jeff Walle is the gunsmith at Guns and Leather. He's a great gunsmith. He used to work at Specialty Arms in Lavergne. He does great work. Stay away from Franklin Gun Shop unless you like paying allot more for mediocre work.

talk to jeff said he couldnt cut no shorter than 20, because of his set up.if you think of someone else shoot me a pm .thanks

A few years ago I had some work done at Lock Stock & Barrel off Columbia Ave. in Franklin and it was done very nicely and prompt. I have only had work done there once, so that is all I can speak of, but I am still very pleased.

I called Franklin gun shop Fri. to see about checkin the head space on a .243, he said $50, I asked to speak with the gun smith and he said he was out and about, I asked when would be a good time to catch him and he told me to bring the gun in and leave it and he would get to it. (didnt seem to have much time for questions)

I'm not bashing but I'd rather talked with the smith, at least he could have taken my number and him called me back, I live quite a distance and I aint makin a 75 mile trip(1 way) to talk with some one about a potential problem, let me talk with the man and find something out and we'll go from ther.
