Or is this going to be a fatal hit? Bleed like crazy so I initially thought she got heart. Walked up on him bedded and I did not have a good angle to get another bolt in him. He blew and jumped up and run off. I could still see blood dropping. Ran about 40 yds and disappeared. We turned around and walked out.

May have clipped the bottom of the heart, my first bow kill was still alive 2 hrs after the shot with a similar hit. Tough to say, but best of luck. Hope you find him

I'd go back and look hard in the morning. Hitting that far forwarded can be difficult to say. I shot one with a muzzleloader several years ago about the same spot. I looked for that deer for 3 days and found him about 400 yards from where I shot him.

It took a min to see the rack for the corn. That's a good deer, hope she finds it!

He was slightly quartered to which may help a little. Looking at the video when he run off, it looks like the exit was a little higher.
Anyway, know of anybody with a dog?

That's part of the problem. I am at the camper with no computer and internet. I just played the video on the TV and recorded it with my iPhone...

Never had a problem with bone and I've been shooting mechanicals since the mid 1990's. I say it's dead.

Now we got a doe to track... Think she overcompensated and gut shot her... My baby is having some bad luck.... She can drill a dot at 40 yds but can't make a shot at 20 yds... Think she gets deer fever now.

I don't think you have to call anyone but you're not supposed to have a weapon with you if I remember correctly. Good luck.

You are supposed to notify your local wildlife officer or regional office before you take the dog in the woods.

I called my local game warden. He said there was no need to call him. Perfectly legal as long as you did not have a weapon. Has help with a dog but lost the trail. We went back after finding her doe. We got on steady blood once he started down hill. Tracked him for 1/2-3/4 mile to neighbors field edge. Big puddle of blood there, no deer and no more blood around.

Dang. Sounds almost like a flesh wound, but I wouldn't give up yet..can you get clearance to go onto the neighbors?
