Yes. You can set each depth different color. It may not be as accurate as your fish finder. But I use mine about everytime
yeah they use cell towers with assist gps. when i tested it it was about 100-150 ft off of bouy markers and ledges where my units map was right on.
they are supposed to update in ios 17 that is supposed to allow stand alone gps but im not for sure if its for their Map app or cannuse for other map apps. i use it on android now and also have c-maps loaded.
is check and make sure the new water you want to fish has been surveyed and mapped. when garmin bought navionics they dumped a lot of data and replaced it with garmins surveys from 2015. at least on ky lake it made navionics pretty accurate from what ive compared.

oh yeah, if you sub to it go into settings and map overlay and choose sonar charts. those are the detailed fishing charts.
I'm not arguing with what WTM has experienced, but mine is typically within 10-20ft.
You'll be fine using it for navigation as long as you're using your brain and not staring at the screen 100% of the time. We used it to run Old Hickory and Percy Priest before we had better graphs and never had a problem.
I would be more worried about the accuracy of the Navionics map than the GPS positioning. If the map was just generated from old surveys it may not be very accurate.

yeah it may depend on which service you have but not for sure. i used att with a 6 plus phone north of jville in the west side. service was spotty back then so may have been the accuracy issue. i have not used it on my new iphone 14plus though. i thought it was strange that it wouldnt let me use just the gps without having location services turned on.
it tracked really well at about 40mph though.
i did some stare and compare last year or so, with c-map and navionics+ after garmin updated with their survey and both seemed to march fairly well in some spots i knew that navionics was inaccurate. i liked c-map a little better on the countours i think but they dont have a dynamic water level adjustment. so i still use both.
