Notice the reader's comments below that article. Several mention Papa Kayjoe's in Centerville. I ate there about a month ago while up that way turkey hunting. I must say it was the worst BBQ I've ever eaten, no doubt about it. As one of my buds had warned me about, it reminded me of "crockpot BBQ" where the meat had been overlooked to the point it was liquidy/mushy if you will. The meat had the same consistency and texture as tuna in a can. I was VERY unimpressed to say the least. The taste was not terrible, but no smoke flavor coupled with wet mushy meat was a poor excuse for BBQ, much less consideration as some of the best BBQ anywhere, much less here in TN. The more I see Papa Kayjoe's and Rendezvous in these "top lists", the more I realize these writers have no clue what real BBQ is about.
