Nashville gun ranges

I like the Stones River TWRA gun range on Hobson Pike, but it is only open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Where are some gun ranges in the Nashville area that are open during the week and what are their hours? I used to belong to Owl Hollow Gun Club in Franklin, but the landowner made the gun club move. Is that range still open under new leadership?

Call and check Cheatham range to be sure it is open. Minimal charge but I have found it closed at times. Don't make the drive for nothing.

I don't think Owl Hollow is still open. They lost their lease last year. Cheathan Range is a long drive for what you get. If you are shooting handguns, I would try something closer. There is an indoor range in Franklin off of Hwy 96.

Cheatham is $5 and you pay at the store right before you enter the WMA. The range is torn up badley. They obviously don't use the range fees to maintain it. Bring your own chair. If you have your own shooting table then bring it. Don't go on the weekends. It opens at 12:00 every day. You need to go out and look up when it is closed. Certain days around the openning of hunting seasons, it is closed. The best time to go is in the middle of the day in the middle of the week. Again, don't go on weekends.

Hollow Gun Club lost there lease but the range is open by the land owner now. You have to pay the land owner himself now to use the range. The Heftner cabin is on the hill to the left of the range if you are looking downrange.
