Apparently Lipscomb's director of player development doesn't understand that winning more games is THE definition of the better team.

It was an awesome series. The teams were fairly evenly matched. Lots of pitching and power on both sides.

BUT...when you look at the 2025 World Series from a (74) innings played perspective, it was more like an 8.22 game series. Game 3 went 18 innings (Dodgers). Game 7 went 11 innings (Dodgers). The Dodgers won games totaling 47 innings.

The 3 games won by Toronto were all 9 inning games. (27 innings.)

Based solely on the numbers Toronto was not the better team.

Heckuva series and I was for the Blue Jays. Doesn't matter who the better team on paper was but who went home with 4 W's. It's really that simple. The Jays can go back and look at base running mistakes in certain games as one thing that could've helped them win it all.

Loading the bases with 1 out in the 9th and then not scoring would've helped them, too. Unfortunately for the Jays, the best team in baseball stopped them.

The 9th inning of game 7 is literally the only baseball I've watched (other than kids) in 20 years. Guess I'll watch another inning in 2045 or so.
