NAP Killzones??

Shot a deer last year right in the shoulder. Only the broad head penetrated and bent the blades. Bad shot on my part to blame here.

Shot a buck at 20 yds last year. Hit a little high (not in the spine) and only got about 8 inches of penetration. Never found him. Took up the minimal blood trail too early here. Should have come back the next morning.

Shot a doe at 20 yds last year. Slight quarter away. Got a complete pass through. She ran 40 yds and fell.

Not trying to give them a bad review as I will be using them again this year. Just giving my experience so far with them. I think there is a tiny nut you can tighten/loosen which changes how easy the blades deploy. I could have had it too tight on the lost buck, but will never know.

I used them last year and was impressed. Between 3 deer they didn't run over 100 yards combined. All were double lung shots. Shootin them this year too.

if I went to expandable I would probably shoot Killzones. they use em a lot on the Bowhunt or Die online show. I still want to use fixed myself, but from what I hear, the Killzone is a great BH

You really wanna know. I was sold instantly on them last year All pass through and all except one died within sight. This deer is who their product sold me. Shot her at 60yards and she didn't take step. Look at that hole and pic again. Notice I said 68yrds when after 30 we lose a lot of connectic energy. So look at the whole at such large distance. Poo

More than what the OP asked for, but here is my big mechanical review...

Most of this will be about the killzone. Granted this broad head has been out a couple years but I just replaced blades for the first time so I feel justified in giving a full review.

Like many I shot rage 2 blades at one point. Killed several deer (including my biggest) but also lost 2 due to poor penetration on shots low in the shoulder (human mistake). In theory I like the big cut idea to make up for any error on my part, but the rage 2 didn't cut it. So I went on the search for a better head.

I liked the killzone for the narrower feral and sharper blades. I've shot them for my last two bucks and several does. They have performed very well on a variety of shots and ranges.

Two night ago I replaced blades. They blades might be sharper than the originals but there are lots of smaller components and it makes assembly tedious.

Overall I like this head but they are expensive and tough to replace (I had to order offline).

As previously stated although a competent archer (several tournament wins during 3ds in college, and qualified for the Olympic trials at 12), I like to hedge my bets with greater cutting diameter. If your ok with the admitted drawbacks I'd give this head a nod.

I have tried Schwaker and killed/found all 3 deer I shot...that being said they break easy and blood trails lacked gusto.

Next to be reviewed are rage hyperdermics. I killed my last deer of the past season with one and performance was good and blades were sharper than the traditional heads.

Just one guys opinion but there you have it.

I like them better than Rage heads , because of the better blade sharpness and blade retention . I have killed several deer with them . It's all about shot placement with any broadhead . I haven't found any broadhead that will perform miracles on poor shots .

What were your thoughts on the entry/exit holes?

Very good ! Pass through on every deer I shot using them . Good entry and exit holes , good blood trails .

I think I'm gonna try the Low KE head . Even though my set up is producing 73/KE I would prefer a little smaller cut .

Don't know how they made their product so good but I had the same thinking as you trying to step back on the cut diameter in fear of loss of energy /penetration but you would be amazed by their 2in head. I'm sold on it.

MUZZY MUZZY MUZZY MUZZY MUZZY MUZZY, cant say it enough, they are the best broadhead made IMO. Ive use mechanicals, hate them, they just do not penetrate as much as fixed bladed broadheads. Ive always said two holes are better than one, i get two holes with muzzy's and one hole with mechanicals, but shoot what you like, its just common sense, Happy hunting

I have used Muzzys in the past , as well as many other fixed blade heads with good results . I like the NAP Killzone heads better , based on arrow flight at higher speed , cutting diameter , big holes in the kill zone ! It's all about shot placement . I get two holes , based on shot placement . Bigger holes =more blood .
