My Son shot this one today from the ground at 4 yards! I had to holler at the deer to get him to stop or he might have run us over. He made a perfect heart shot and the deer bucked hard and piled up about 40 yards away. Garrett had a great reaction to it. Very awesome experience between us. 1:42pm

It really was a wild hunt. We were on the ground with just a couple chair-in-a-bags tucked up into some cover. And we were only in there twenty minutes total. Right before the buck ran in on us, a doe came by us from basically the way we walked in and got to inside ten yards and never knew we were there. That got us excited. And ready and less than five minutes later, the buck ran in from the other way. The hard northwest wind helped a lot. We had been dealing with swirling winds a lot.

Love ground hunting. Had a doe slip in on me from behind Sunday AM. she was maybe 5 yds away. I was able to spin around and could have shot her, but I was looking for a buck.

Congrats to your son!
