Got in the tree a little later than I wanted. Son was on one side of the property and I on the other.
He texted me at 7:30 saying he passed on a small buck. I was almost asleep, sitting so comfortable in my Summit, when I heard something off to my right. This 7 pointer was thrashing tree limbs and small saplings with his antlers----akin to a child throwing a temper tantrum! I shot him at 8:40. I heard my son shoot at 9:01. He shot the 8 pointer I stuck with an arrow right at dark two weeks ago. As I suspected from the looks of the arrow and no blood trail, it is now confirmed----the shot was high and the arrow went right thru the void. No infection on the wound. It had already scabbed over. Tough animals!!
