I planted my first ever food plot in Mid-September using Imperial Whitetail Clover with wheat and forage oats as a cover crop. We covered the seeds good, but we got barely any rain during the following 3 weeks and my plot wasn't doing so well. I went out and overseeded last Sunday since there was rain coming on Mon and Tue. I went back out on Thursday morning after the rains and I noticed a lot less seeds on the ground. I pulled the card on my Plotwatcher Pro and saw the culprits in action.

Here they are wiping me out on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning! :cry: :mad:

Fascinating footage. Thanks for sharing. Surprised you didn't find feathers just below your camera. That should have given it away. I would have been out there Sat. AM with a 12 ga. or bow and a turkey, or 3, on the table that night! Noticed only one beard....
 
There's a funny scene from Tuesday morning when it started raining. All the turkeys went and stood under a small tree. It happens around the 2:00 min mark in the video.

Feathered, seed-eating rats!

They've been all in my plots of late. Luckily, I seeded the second time in a rain, so those feathered rats only had a week to do damage.
 
Damned ol birds. Kill em all. And if you don't want to kill em yourself, shoot me a PM and I'll schedule a few spring "feathered rat" extermination trips.
 
I have this picture in my mind: It nightime and 10 or 15 TNDeer members with flashlights and bags are picking up seed from BSK's plots. They are wearing sneakers with turkey feet glued to them.


Somehow, I think this is possible. Feathered rats is really funny.
 
I'd come clear from Memphis to see these things. I wuz thinkin they wuz just turkeys. I'll bring some #4's with silver pellets in case we need some 'tection.


In the meantime, I really was wondering how is the plot doing?
 
Yeah, yeah. Everybody says, "I'll take care of that problem for you!" Yet all they do is kill a tom or two (if that). I want wholesale feathered slaughter!!!! Die all you seed-eaters!!!
