My new Ruger SR556 rifle. I hope the Beta Mag feeds well in it. I didn't have any hiccups with the Beta Mag out of my Sig. I haven't shot it yet because it has no optics yet. Don't know what I'm going to put on it. Any suggestions?

i have a buddy with a used mark 4 leupold cqt that is one awesome scope for a AR he is wanting 700.00 for it. it is like new

Since it's a Ruger might as well run a BSA on it. THat way you can blame the lack of accuracy on the optic! Nice looking rifle but they throw bullets like I throw boulders.

You have the SR556? What type of groups are you getting?

I'm thinking I may go with either the Nightforce 2.5-10x32 NXS with the NP-R2 reticle, Burris P.E.P.R. mounts, and a Meopta M-RAD reflex sight on the rear picatinny ring mount. Or get the ACOG with the reflex site.

He is mixing this one up with the RUGER MINI-14 Rifle ,surely this rifle has a better barrell on it.

I had one to review for G&A...I'm not a writer I just get to give my opinion to the over-worked writers LOL and mine was a pre-production model. It wouldn't shoot 20 rounds into a 5.5 inch shoot-n-c at 100yds! Not just any 20rds but premium, match, and surplus. Most other AR's will find one cartridge that it likes and print consistent groups with that round. For the price you could get an excellent STAG M8 or a POF that will actually shoot point-of-aim.

If this thing doesn't shoot better than that it will be in the classifieds.

Were you shooting with iron sites or with a scope? If you were shooting with a scope, what type of mounts and optics were you using?

When the hunting season is over, I will be sure to post my first group with this rifle.
